Scenic

Scenic is an Australian-founded operator running river cruises in Europe and Southeast Asia, ocean voyages on its Discovery Yachts, and escorted land journeys. Its European river fleet launched in 2008 and the ships are purpose-built to Scenic’s own specification, branded Space-Ships, carrying around 160 to 170 guests each.

The all-inclusive claim is more literal than most. Fares cover airport transfers, all meals, all drinks including spirits and wine, butler service in every suite category, gratuities, Wi-Fi and shore excursions. Two programs sit inside that: Scenic Freechoice lets guests pick from several activities in each port, and Scenic Enrich arranges events that are not otherwise available, such as private concerts in historic buildings. Many ships also carry complimentary e-bikes for independent exploring.

Scenic Eclipse launched in 2019 and Scenic Eclipse II in 2023, both carrying 228 guests on ocean and expedition voyages, with helicopters and a submarine aboard. They have sailed to more than 500 ports across 63 countries and all seven continents.

Rivers include the Danube, Rhine, Rhône, Seine, Douro and Mekong. Scenic suits travellers who would rather pay once and not think about extras, and who want a butler and a balcony rather than a cabin and a bar tab.
