Specialist Tour Operator

50 Degrees North

Find your Nordic adventure

50 Degrees North is a Nordic specialist founded in 2010, family-owned, with offices in Norway, Australia, the United States and Canada. The Australian office is in Melbourne. Staff are largely Nordic natives, and itineraries are designed in-house rather than bought in from a wholesaler.

The company covers Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Greenland and the Baltic states. Trips come in three formats. Tailored independent itineraries are built around individual travellers, with transport and accommodation arranged but no group. Signature Trips are semi-independent, following a set route with support but no tour leader. Small group tours run with a maximum of around 16 to 18 travellers, with some larger escorted departures of up to 30.

Several Norwegian itineraries use the company’s own mini-coaches on scheduled routes between places such as Lom and Aurland, which means small numbers and the flexibility to stop where a full coach could not.

50 Degrees North is a certified B Corporation, with 24-hour in-destination support across its three regional offices.

It suits travellers who want the Nordics and Arctic specifically rather than as one stop on a wider European trip, and who would rather deal with people who live in the region than a generalist operator.
